My Food Philosophy
I believe that home cooking is the key to health because it's also the key to connecting with the food system on a personal level. I love to cook for others, for myself, and to teach through my blog and one-on-one. My cooking is vegetable-centric, and I try to stay as close to seasonality as possible without driving myself crazy. In general I don't believe in hard and fast cooking rules, except that you should always buy the highest quality, freshest ingredients you can afford, especially when it comes to animal products.
My cooking experience is not formal; instead, I grew up in a home that cared about good, healthy food, and was lucky enough to learn a lot along the way. Since then it has been a completely self-directed journey toward food, cooking, and teaching.
